Tips For Creating the Perfect At-Home Spa Day

Updated: Apr 1

Spa Day Essentials

One of the most relaxing things you can do is pamper yourself, and what better way is there to do that than an at-home spa day! Picture it, your comfy home, soothing sounds, the scent of a candle burning, maybe a glass of wine or tea, a good book, and just you. Doing things like this for yourself is so important for our mental health. We need to release the stress and anxiety we tend to have with busy lives and schedules. This is the perfect activity to let that stress and tension just melt away.

We focused our box this month on a spa day around hair, face, and a hot soothing relaxing bath. Does this sound awesome to you? If so keep reading to find out how to make this the best it can be.

Pick a day or evening and mark it on your calendar

How many times have you had good intentions to do something and just didn't get around to it? This is why making a plan and putting it in your calendar is vital. You make time and appointments for everyone else but yourself I would bet. Guess what? You are just as important as anyone else in your life so this is the perfect way to make sure you treat yourself just like you would anyone else.

Getting ready

Now that we are all scheduled it's on to the next step. Make sure you set the right mood for your perfectly pampered day. Be sure you have your favorite bottle of wine or flavor of tea on hand. This is about loving ourselves after all. If you have a bath tray that makes it almost the best thing ever! Your book, glass, and other items are right there at your fingertips.

As the song goes, lock the door and turn the lights down low, put some music on that's soft and slow...if you listen to country music you will know that song. But seriously this is all part of the experience! The lighting, sounds, scents, and not being disturbed. All key things my friend.

On this particular spa day that's pictured above we are doing a face mask a hair mask and a bath. The candle and bath bomb will give the perfect scent and the pillow will give make you super comfy in the tub. You can do any particular spa day that appeals to you though.

More spa day ideas

Here are some other great ideas to have an at-home spa day

  • Invite some friends over for a mani-pedi spa. All you need is some small plastic tubs to soak your feet, scrubs lotions, and polish. Make it more special with snacks and beverages.

  • Facial steams and masks. Create your steamer using a bowl, hot water, a towel, and some essential oils. This helps open your pores and cleanse your skin which is perfect to then use as a face mask or eye mask.

  • Throw an all-out spa day party with your closest friends. The concept is the same creating the mood but you can also add healthy snacks and drinks such as infused waters, fruit, and veggies with hummus and herbal teas.

Don't overthink it

Whatever you do make sure you don't stress yourself trying to plan your pamper session. Don't make it complicated just do what feels right to you. Just make sure you do it!

Start putting yourself on the calendar

Listen, I know we are all busy. Or maybe you have trouble connecting with yourself or others. The most important thing we all need to remember is we tend to take care of others way more than we take care of ourselves. The problem with that is we start to break down little by little over time when we neglect ourselves. This happens physically and mentally. I can't stress enough that we don't need to be people pleasers every single time. The people who truly love you will know that you need to take care of yourself as well.
